Mesothelioma Biopsy

One of the most effective mesotheliomas diagnosing technics is a biopsy. Biopsies collect part of the potentially cancerous tissues and examine them for any mesothelioma signs. Often, a mesothelioma biopsy is used to confirm a diagnosis from an already done imaging scan or blood test. It is not possible to dully diagnose mesothelioma without a biopsy.

Endoscopic biopsies are a more noninvasive option. Doctors insert a small tube into the body with a camera attached. Doctors then have a straightforward way to observe the body without needing to make a large incision.

Another type of biopsy is a fine needle aspiration biopsy. A fine, hollow needle is inserted into the body to extract sample cells for analysis.

Endoscopic Biopsies

  • Thoracoscopy
  • Mediastinoscopy
  • Laparoscopy
